In Thomas Stephanblome's work, a close look is taken at the way we perceive and remember the world around us. Drawing both from everyday life and from the history of images that floats through our heads, over our walls and down our streets, his paintings connect with issues of genre, memory, the everyday or the body, yet never nail things down completely, leaving us close to a state of déjà-vu that forces us to look again – whether at the images or at the world at large.
Thomas Stephanblome (*1985) studies Painting at Leipzig's Academy of Visual Arts and is currently in his final year.
