Malin Gabriella Nordin
Private Language
Malin Gabriella Nordin is a third-year fine art student at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design. In her work she reconstructs fragments from her dreams, memories and surroundings. She works intuitively and her process is an important and crucial part of the work; like in a game of Chinese whispers she moves between different mediums and techniques. Something that started out flat on a paper turns into a sculpture from a different angle and later becomes a painting, etc. The process continues infinitely, as leftover pieces from one project becomes a major part of the next.
In 'Private Language' she has been collaborating with children from the ages of 3 to 5. Together they discussed her work – a collection of sculptures – after which all of the children were asked to make drawings of what they thought was missing. Showing at Gallery Fisk is her interpretations of the children's drawings.
