Nora Adwan
Nora Adwan is on the first year MA at KHiB showing work in progress at Galleri Fisk; a part of her larger
MA project which is based on composing a series of works comprising of both photographic and sculptural
elements working together.
The choice of sculpture materials is architectural; they are used to create bodies or characters. Concrete, wood,
steel and rubber are industrial materials used to literally shape our environment. Our lives are enclosed and
held together by these things so familiar as to almost become invisible. The photographs are also of artificial
structures, often in states of decay. They are images of ‘stages’ for action where human theatre has intensely
taken place and will probably take place again. The images show the empty silent moments between actions
where the traces of history become visible and illustrate the idea of experience.
The photographs act as frames to the sculpture, placing them in a location and a time.
