Audun Alvestad "The holy guacamole and the girl with the pear necklace"
Nothing is free, but all is cheap
The nature of the universe is that there must be an energy exchange for something to survive. Nothing comes from nothing. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. It can only change forms. In any process, the total energy of the universe remains the same.
Material things and the different services offered by people are not free because they all take effort and work to produce or perform. Effort drains energy and can be strenuous on the body and mind so compensation is needed for a day's work.
Of course humans are also naturally self-serving creatures and desire recreation at all times, which is why a number of individuals of us have found a way to drain the majorities energy and therefore experience more of the rewarding sides of human existence, namely leisure and luxury.
Audun Alvestad is a first year MA-student at Khib. He works mainly with paintings and sculptures.
